SURVIVOR’S RIGHTS

Our firm advocates for survivors of sexual abuse, incest, and other forms of physical violence in the workplace, schools, professional services settings, universities, hospitals, churches, motels, convenience stores, and even in the home.

We recognize the vulnerability of those who have suffered the violation and ongoing trauma of sexual assault or other physical violence. We understand that survivors of assault require special and individualized attention, expertise and sensitivity. We understand the psychological damage done to survivors and the need to invest the time, attention, and aggressive advocacy necessary to prosecute their cases seeking substantial compensation.

Our attorneys have successfully advocated for decades on behalf of hundreds of survivors through the civil justice system, informed by partner Pat Pierce’s
service as a board member and former President of Women Organized Against Rape. Third parties responsible for providing security, ensuring a safe working environment, and protecting customers, patients, and students, often fail to take necessary and reasonable precautions. Motels, convenience stores, private schools, hospitals, and other places of public accommodation often neglect their duty to take reasonable, common-sense precautions to protect members of the public that they serve.  Professionals like accountants, lawyers, doctors, and therapists often abuse their position of trust and cross ethical boundaries by engaging in sexual relationships with clients or patients. We believe that those who can be held accountable to survivors under the law through monetary damages should be.

Most importantly, going beyond achieving significant settlements and verdicts, we make certain that our clients are heard and know that we will work hard to see them vindicated.
